Quick update, and some thank you's!

Sorry we haven't updated much we've been a little busy lately, in the best possible way! Our Facebook page and fan page has really blown up quick thanks to all our friends who have have been supporting us. Apparently a good idea, plus a free social networking site is the best way to start up a business! So we've been busy, because we've been getting orders! After 1 week we have orders in for the next two weeks, and it's for over $150. Can't pay the rent with it yet, but we're working on it!

We have had a lot of cookie breakthroughs lately, and the response from people at our "real" jobs have been really positive, so it's encouraging, plus we have come to learn that we are addicted to our own cookies, and that's always a good sign!

I have to run of to said real job now, but before I do I really want to thank some people who have been helping us out. Our families, of course. They have been supportive since day one, and are probably our number one fans right now.

Our friend Rebecca Teran has been our #1 fan in Portland since the first batch of cookies we made. She's always there to give us an honest opinion, and thankfully, rides to Costco and Ikea for supplies (you can't do everything on bike!)

We have had friends who have donated equipment like a Kitchen Aid Mixer, and professional bake pans. Most of what we use to bake on and with, aside from ingredients, have been donated or given as birthday gifts by friends.

Our friend Dustin Dybevik had been gracious enough to be our graphic designer for not much more than cookies, but we promised to pimp his skills out, and soon you will see his work up on our Facebook, and someday website (check out his work now at bloodtoe.com)

And last we want to thank every friend and family member who has been with us from the start since last February, and all our new friends and family who are learning about this, and supporting us for the first time. We have had an overwhelmingly positive response to our Facebook fan and friend page, people have been telling everyone they know about us, and it's been working! Thank you all so much for all your help, and remember, get your cookie orders in, cause our schedules filling up fast!

The Dude

Today we perfected our white-russian teacake. Get this: it is a creamy spin on the classic teacake, with a hidden chocolate covered espresso bean in the middle... and then we dip it in a Kahlua glaze. It is unreal! The first taste tester was blown away and we cannot stop eating them. Looking forward to sharing them with all of you!! Pictures to come!

Facebook Part 2!

Now you can be our friend on facebook! Find us at: http://www.facebook.com/cookiepedalers

It's the best place to keep up with what is going on, and you can message us your orders!

Get Your Holiday Orders In!

Here's a menu of cookies available to order now! The more you buy, the more you save. We don't have set prices right now, but it's about $10 dozen, and chances are we'll cut you a pretty sweet deal!

-The Pascal: The most perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie you've ever had. So what's so special about a Chocolate Chip Cookie? Our cookie has triple chocolate chunks in them: White, Milk, and Dark. Did we mention this cookie is HUGE?

-The 39th Ave. Cookie: We have to give it up to Trader Joe's for this cookie, the inspiration was all them, and the surrounding area of course. We took the boring chocolate chip cookie, and gave it a face lift. Instead of chocolate chips, we add mini peanut butter cups (Thanks TJ's!), we use half flour, half ground up oatmeal, and add a slight dash of Cinnamon to round it all out. Yeah, it's pretty much the best cookie ever... and also why we had to give it it's own name, cause that description is a mouth full

-Chai Oatmeal Cookies: This is the cookie that started it all! A chewy oatmeal cookie, a little sweet, and a lot of spice, this cookie is good in the morning with a cup of coffee...or a hot cup of Chai perhaps?

-Chai Sugar Cookies, with a Chai Glaze: Don't worry, not every cookie has Chai Tea in it, but we couldn't resist using it again since it worked so well the first time. This cookie is sugar, and spice, and everything nice, for real.

-The Whopper-Doodle: Take the classic Snicker Doodle, add some ground up Whopper candy to the dough, roll it in ground up whopper candy, sugar, and cinnamon. Enjoy

Whoa Cookies!

This has been a crazy week!

Cookie Pedalers are about to hit the ground running. I put in my two weeks notice a few days ago, so that Teal and I can really get Cookie Pedalers going (and for other reasons).

Our good friends Nitiya and Malia got Teal baking supplies for her birthday, so we're really just waiting to figure out where the money's going to come from for ingredients, and we're set!

I have to run to work, but I just wanted to give a short update.

Love and Cookies!

What a week!

Things were a little crazy around here for us this past week.

First off, our amazing friend Malia placed an order with us to provide cookies for the April Architects Without Borders meeting. We sent our Chai Oatmeal, 39th Ave., and The Pascal. Things went quite well...the Pascal disappeared immediately! It also resulted in our very first paying order!

Thursday-Sunday Cookie Pedalers was at Bridgetown Comedy Festival providing cookies to comics and volunteers to rave reviews.

We are still trying to figure many legal things out and are still working on fine-tuning recipes and such, but we are feeling more confident with each endeavor and are looking forward to our next steps.

The Pascal

On Thursday Teal and I made some crazy insane chocolate chunk cookies, AKA The Pascal. This cookie came out better then I could have ever imagined. First off, it was as big as my fist, and it had chocolate chunks in it of all sizes, some of which were as big as my nose. This isn't your average snacking cookie, this is dessert in cookie form, an indulgence everyone should get a taste of.

We also tried out the Peanut Butter Pretzel cookie dipped in Chocolate (someone please come up with a name for this one!) It came out pretty well, we still have some more testing to do on that one, so if you're interested in trying them, or any other cookie, let us know. Like Teal wrote in the last post, we're always looking for people who want to try out our test batches. If you want to be a cookie tester, leave a comment, or write us a message on Myspace.

Pictures of both cookies are still to come!

Cookie Flavors!

If you think these sound good, wait till you taste them! Some of them have names, others we're still working on names for. Feel free to throw your ideas for names into the ring.

Current Flavors:

-Chai Oatmeal Cookies: This is the cookie that started it all! Teal and I were watching a show on the food network where they were making cookies, and decided we wanted some. We only had ingredients for Oatmeal cookies, but thought that would be too boring, so we rummaged around the pantry, found some Chai Tea, and the rest is history.

-Chai Sugar Cookies, with a Chai Glaze: Don't worry, not every cookie has Chai Tea in it, but we couldn't resist using it again since it worked so well the first time. This cookie is sugar, and spice, and everything nice, for real.

-The 39th Ave. Cookie: We have to give it up to Trader Joe's for this cookie, the inspiration was all them, and the surrounding area of course. This cookie is a bit wacky (as it should be). It is like a Chocolate Chip Cookie, if you were to take out the chocolate chips, replace them with Mini Peanut Butter Cups (Thanks Trader Joe's for that awesome creation!), then add some ground up oatmeal and a dash of cinnamon. Yeah, it's pretty much the best cookie ever... and also why we had to give it it's own name, cause that description is a mouth full

-The Dude: Fit for The Dude himself, we've created a White Russian Tea Cookie. A Russian Tea Cookie, with cream added in, and a coffee/Kahlua glaze, made in popable bite size pieces, because lets face it, what dude want to be seen munching on a Tea Cake?

-Malted Snicker-doodle: This cookie was another happy accident. We wanted to make a snicker-doodle, but the flavor ideas we had, had already been done by others, and we feel the need to be original (can you tell?) So looking around the kitchen we saw a box of malted milk balls on the top of the microwave, and it was like a lightbulb went off over both our heads at the same time. We crushed the balls (hehe), added them to the cookie, and another Cookie Pedaler creation was born.

-Curry Macaroons Dipped in Chocolate: Curry and Coconut-delish! Coconut and Chocolate-yum! But Curry, Coconut, and Chocolate together? It's a flavor explosion of almost epic proportions. The sweet curry and the chocolate are wonderful compliments to each other, if you like Thai food, and have a sweet tooth, this cookie is for you!

-The Pascal: The most perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie you've ever had. So what's so special about a Chocolate Chip Cookie? Our cookie has triple chocolate chunks in them, White, Milk, and Dark, and it's almost as big as your face (k, not that huge, but it's a big cookie) We named the cookie after Ana Pascal, a character in the movie Stranger Then Fiction. She wants to make the world a better place, and does it through baking. She's our Hero, and we want to follow in her footsteps.

Flavors in The Works

-Green Tea Shortbread with Almond Slivers and raspberry glaze
-Peanut butter cookie with pretzel, dipped in chocolate
-Cafe Au Lait Cookie
-Wine Soaked Dried Fruit Bar (The Suburban House Wife)

And for summer, we'll have ice cream sandwiches too...if we can figure out a way to deliver them!

Who We Are, And What We're Doing

Well, if you're reading this, there's a good chance you know who we are, and what we do, but if not, let me introduce us.

We are the Cookie Pedalers, we make creative cookies, and deliver them my bike in SE Portland (Oregon). Right now we're still in the planning phase. We have our name, our blog, a MySpace, and a Facebook. We have about 5 solid cookie recipes, and over a dozen other ideas that we have yet to try out.

So what's stopping us? Who else? The Man. Cookie Pedalers is just my roommate and I. All we want to do is make a little money while the economy sucks, by doing something we like, and maybe employing some of our unemployed friends. The Problem is we can't get a licensed kitchen to bake in. We just need someone to give us a chance, someone who really needed help when they were starting out. We can't really pay anyone for use of the kitchen, but we will advertise our butts off for anyone who can lend us a kitchen. We have pretty much everything else planned out, but we can't get anything really off the ground till we have a kitchen...So if you know anyone...

Anyway.

There will be two of us blogging from time to time. I'm Molly, and Teal is my my roommate/ Business Partner in Crime. My Blog will always be in Purple, and I hope you enjoy them!

Coming up next on our Blog Spot: Cookie Flavors, let us know what sounds good, what sounds gross, or tell us a cookie flavor you'd like to see on the Cookie Pedalers Menu.
